Hinrich Weyhausen KG was founded by Heinrich Weyhausen in 1919 as a trading company. The production of agricultural machinery began in 1921. The
first hydraulic excavator was manufactured in 1950. In 1986, the Atlas trademark, under which the products were manufactured, became part of the company name — Atlas Weyhausen
GmbH.
In 2002, the line of construction equipment was sold to Terex Corporation. The machines were produced under the Atlas-Terex brand. In 2010,
Atlas-Terex production was acquired by Atlas Maschinen GmbH, a spin-off from Atlas Weyhausen
GmbH.
Atlas Weyhausen is currently a group of companies that includes ATLAS Weyhausen GmbH and F. Weyhausen AG & Co. KG. Both are
legally independent, independent organizations, but they provide their products under a unified brand name. The range of manufactured equipment includes frontal mini-loaders and rollers.
Perfection of ATLAS tracked excavators
ATLAS is a manufacturing company that, along with wheeled excavators, manufactures caterpillar machines. This device is used to
carry out all sorts of difficult work, mainly earthwork. And what is characteristic is that the type of soil is absolutely not important for such a machine. And this is always a full-revolving
unit, which in its work ensures reliability, quality and efficiency of the result. This performance is made possible by the full cab revolution (with working bucket). And the unique design of
this device can easily perform work on any type of terrain. In urban conditions, despite the caterpillar equipment, the device can also be used for digging trenches or backfilling pits.
Common parameters
this type of mechanism is represented by a tracked vehicle;
all types of crawler excavators are equipped with a working bucket with a volume of 0.45 to 2.5 m3. And some models are also equipped with working
bodies (buckets) with increased performance.
The lineup of these machines differs in the following characteristics:
wheel drive type;
bucket volume;
cab turn (radius);
reserve and power of the course
type of chassis (wheeled or tracked, in this case we are considering all tracked excavators).
Also, as an addition, attachments (hydraulic hammer, hydraulic drill, blade, digger of trenches and foundation pits or loading bucket) are put on
these Atlas devices. And in order to determine the right model, you need to know the technical characteristics of each modification of tracked equipment that Atlas
produces.

Atlas Excavators History
There are some ATLAS (Atlas Maschinen GmbH) Excavator Service Manuals & Specs PDF above the page.
The German company Atlas GmbH (from 2010 to 2016 – Atlas Maschinen GmbH) is a world-famous manufacturer of construction equipment. The head office is located in the city of Ganderkesee.
The main products of the company are heavy and medium wheeled and tracked excavators. In addition to excavators, the company manufactures tower cranes, crawler and wheel loaders of various capacities.
In 2019, Atlas celebrated its anniversary – the centenary of its foundation. On the official website of the company included a counter showing how much time is left until the anniversary date.
In 1919, Hinrich Weyhausen, in the small town of Delmenhorst in Lower Saxony, Germany, founded the company Hinrich Weyhausen KG, for the production of agricultural machinery and lifting equipment for agriculture.
The registered trademark “Atlas” first appeared in 1936.
The company Hinrich Weyhausen KG constantly improved its offspring, and already since the sixties, it took a leading position in the international market of excavators.
In 1962, more than a thousand workers worked in all of its factories.
When the company’s founder, Hinrich Weyhausen, passed away, his son Gunter took over the leadership.
Faced with financial difficulties at the end of the last century, the owners sold their business to EDER Handel und Beteiligungen GmbH, which, in turn, resold it to the American manufacturer of building machinery and machines Terex from Westport.
The company was renamed Atlas Terex GmbH. The new management didn’t bring anything good, the organization suffered significant losses.
In March 2010 investor Philip Filippov bought the company for one euro. Filippov called the new organization Atlas Maschinen GmbH.
