    Installing and Adjusting the Guide Bar and Saw Chain NOTE: For longest chain life, place new or replace- ment chain loops in oil and soak overnight before installation. IMPORTANT! Guide Bar The chain brake must be completely disengaged before removing or install- ing the clutch cover.

    Engine Start and Stop WARNING! ull to hoke Firm Grip This chain saw is equipped with a fast idle feature for ease of engine starting. When the fast idle is set, the saw chain will rotate when the engine starts! Rotating saw chain can cause serious injury.

    Starting a Flooded Engine If the carburetor choke is closed (choke Pull the engine over control fully extended) and after repeat- ed attempts, the engine fails to start, the engine may be flooded with fuel. The fol- lowing steps are recommended to clear a flooded engine.

    If the engine idle can not be adjusted so that the saw chain stops moving when the throttle trigger is released, imme- diately stop using the chain saw and contact an authorized Shindaiwa dealer for assistance.
